Who Makes our Garments?

Who Makes our Garments?

We are super picky about our suppliers and who we partner with to manufacture our garments.

There is so much information out about sustainability, it's overwhelming.
Not all info you read is as accurate as we would hope.
We are in a constant state of updating, learning and improving wherever we can on the subjects of considered production of garments that are designed for the long run.

Both our long term working relationships, and all new suppliers and partners alike are regularly updating our ongoing queries on the best practices available with the most recent information at hand.

We ask questions often and update as best we can with every opportunity. Making our very best decisions for our own conscience and for yours, when you invest in our pieces.

We currently create our beautiful pieces in 4 production facilities across 2 regions.

To avoid unnecessary additional travel of fabric and trims we consciously design with our carbon footprint in mind, and always prefer to source in the same region as each manufacturer, as best we can and where ever possible.

We are very lucky to live close by (just a few blocks!) to our Indonesian production partners, and we visit there by motorbike a few times a week (and this is also calculated in our carbon omissions that we offset).

We do not own our own production facility. We do ask facility management a list of questions regarding the employees wages, health care, living situation, contracted work hours, and we request to meet as many employees ourselves face to face on visits to location. This is not a one time query it is an ongoing part of our working relationship with suppliers and manufacturers. All contracts with production partners are paid in full before collection of our production.

We enter agreements with the factories and their owners with the understanding that priority is employees well-being, where the appropriate care and support is provided. This positive work environment has been validated with the regular visits and constant queries regarding updates on working conditions. These environments are also closely monitored in India by our family who help select the best factories for us and are regular weekly visits throughout our garment manufacturing process.

With this in mind we do not reduce the prices of our clothing to the point that people who are making them are not being paid. If our pieces ever go on sale, it does not reflect the price we paid for them, we just made no margin. To reiterate we ensure our manufacturing teams are operating in safe and comfortable environments and are being paid fairly for their efforts.
